Under the Strawberry Moon

The Strawberry Moon will grace the sky as it rises this afternoon and into the evening. As the last full moon before the summer solstice, it marks a time of ripening and awakening. It invites us to reflect, release, and realign with what truly matters.

Named by Native American tribes to signal the harvest of wild strawberries, the full moon in June holds a deeper meaning for those attuned to nature’s rhythms. This Moon marks the final full Moon before the summer solstice… the seasonal farewell to spring.

As strawberries reach their peak sweetness, we too are called to ripen… emotionally, spiritually, and even in the ways we show up for ourselves. This lunar phase is the perfect moment to let go of old wounds, revisit our roots, and make space for abundance and clarity.

The Strawberry Moon can be an excellent moment to practice your rituals. Try moon bathing, meditating, journaling, and if you hear the call, building a sacred altar to set your intentions for the summer season.

In that spirit, I’m preparing for a journey of reconnection and personal transformation. Starting June 25th, I’ll be traveling through my home state of New York, spending time in the places that shaped my early life and spiritual path.

From the vibrant pulse of NYC to the quiet beauty of the Hamptons, the mystical charm of Cornwall-on-Hudson, and the deep memory of Lake Luzerne in the Adirondacks…

Each place holds a mirror to my evolution.

I have mixed feelings about my childhood. I’m not afraid to say that I faced some dysfunction early on, which led to a lot of powerfully charged emotions.

Lake Luzerne, in particular, is layered with memories. We departed this bedroom town when I was 13 years old. Returning now as an adult, I’ll walk familiar paths with new eyes—ready to honor what was and release what no longer serves.

There’s something healing about retracing your past on horseback through God’s country, surrounded by trees that have watched you grow. After all these years, I’m looking forward to seeing old spaces through the lens of the present.

As I wrote in my book, BE…, we need to recognize that as humans, we’re going to experience every emotion on the spectrum. I think it’s important to embrace everything about your journey; it’s made you who you are.

Shame is rooted in the fear that something you perceive as making you less worthy is going to be uncovered or found out by your peers. And yet, the truth of life is a long road filled with twists and turns. The occasional dark alley doesn’t make you any less valuable. I believe fully:

“We are inherently worthy in our humanity, because we have a soul, a spirit, and a purpose.”

Places are not just destinations; they’re portals to deeper understanding and remembrance.

Cornwall-on-Hudson is another stop close to my heart. I’ll be spending time with my brother, his family, and my friends. But there’s a lot more to this town for me…

In my 30s, this town became a sanctuary for self-study and spiritual mentorship under Dr. Richard Smith—the father figure I had always dreamed of.

It was during this time that I studied biofeedback, hypnotherapy, NLP, and the Sumerian texts. I took the worn-down home pictured above from a state of disrepair to a state of reinvention, and I did the same with myself.

It’s a season of movement, reflection, and expansion…

This summer also brings a joyful new chapter! I’ll be cruising the Atlantic to Bermuda, then traveling to Italy to celebrate a wedding in Calabria, followed by a soul-nourishing visit to the Lombardy region.

As I share this journey with you, it’s my prayer that you, too, make space this summer for your own growth and awakening.

Whether it’s a full-on pilgrimage or a quiet weekend away, may you reconnect with the parts of yourself that long to be seen and loved.

And if not this summer, consider joining me in the fall for a weekend retreat! I’d love to have you come to sunny Florida.

Let’s gather in the spirit of healing, presence, and purpose… reawakening your soul, planning for the future, or taking a moment to simply BE.
